We are excited to announce the kick-off of
It’s all about connection — getting to know one another, sharing simple meals, and building a stronger community of faith.
A Foyer Group is all about fellowship through monthly, informal dinner gatherings in small groups, a perfect low-key way to make a connection! As a group, you decide how creative and fun your group can be.
Here’s how it works:
Once someone or a couple signs up, they will be assigned by the organizers to a group (about 6 people) to have a monthly dinner together for three months.
When you sign up, you can designate if you are gluten-free, vegetarian, or have other dietary needs.
Couples and singles can host an event, and hosting duties rotate among the group.
The meals are deliberately casual and relaxed — not a competition of gourmet cooking or home décor. The emphasis is on fellowship and connection.
It doesn’t follow a formal agenda. Its purpose is purely social: to break bread and build relationships.
Foyer groups will be changed every three months by the organizers so you can get to know or reacquaint yourself with fellow parishioners.
Your group decides how to proceed:
Groups can meet at one another’s homes or another location of your choosing. (Separate checks if at a restaurant.)
The host/hostess may provide everything or supply just the main dish for a potluck dinner. Other options include having food catered, foods assigned, having a picnic, ordering pizza, or going to a restaurant.
Each group decides the day and time for its gatherings, and the time selected for the first month’s gathering does not determine the time selected for the following month.
Regular attendance by all members is very important. Something vital is missing when someone is absent. If it is impossible to attend, please let the host/hostess know in advance. A different date/time may be selected.
Gatherings are usually two to two and one-half hours in length.
The host for the month should email or call all members during the week before a get-together to remind them of the date and time, etc.
Please don’t let anxiety about hosting a gathering deprive you of the joy of participating.
There are many options for hosting — choose something you’re comfortable with. Hosting in your home is optional.
Simply click the button above OR call the parish office (256-237-4011) to sign up!
After the registration period, we’ll have a “kick-off” wine and cheese social where we’ll meet our groups and plan our first dinners. Watch for details!
